Today is the day that Tony Bickerton gets to go to the National Art Museum with his babysitter, Clara Dingleberry. Tony was very excited because this was the very first museum he had ever been to. Tony loved to do things with Clara. When they arrived, it was about 10:45 am, right when they unlocked the museum doors. Tony could hardly wait to explore the giant museum with Clara. Tony loved paintings. The first one they looked at was one by Vermeer. Even though Tony was just a baby, he loved detailed paintings. Clara and Tony looked at a lot more beautiful paintings and then it became 11:30 am, time for lunch.
Clara and Tony headed to the little restaurant inside the museum. Clara ordered lunch then sat down with Tony and gave him his special baby food. While Clara and Tony were eating, Tony’s tiny shoe slipped right off his foot and neither of them noticed. After lunch, they went and saw a couple more paintings, and then it was time to go. Clara and Tony left the giant art museum and headed home.
When they arrived back at the house, Clara took Tony inside. Whey they got inside, they sat on the comfy couch and watched Tony’s favorite show, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. While they were watching TV, Clara realized that she forgot to take Tony’s shoes off. When she bent down to take them off, she noticed that he only had one shoe on. She immediately grabbed her car keys, and Tony, then rushed out the door to her car.
They headed to the giant museum hoping to find Tony’s missing shoe. When they arrived, they asked an employee if anyone had turned in a baby shoe to the lost and found, but the kind employee said, “Sorry, no baby shoe was found.” Tony and Clara then went to all of the paintings they looked at, but didn’t find Tony’s shoe. They didn’t remember about the little restaurant. They looked and looked then finally decided they needed to call Bonnie Spacklethud, a world famous detective.
When Bonnie arrived, they were very excited and had hope that they would find Tony’s missing shoe. Clara told her all of the paintings they looked at. They searched around the areas of the paintings but didn’t find the shoe. They finally gave up, thanked Bonnie for her help, then headed home.
A couple days later, Bonnie went back to the museum to help solve another mystery and found a cup with fingerprints on it and a half eaten sandwich at the restaurant. Bonnie took the cup with fingerprints on it back to her lab and found that the fingerprints matched up with Clara’s. Bonnie then rushed to Clara’s house, got Clara, and went back to the museum. Bonnie then said to Clara, “We are at the museum because I found a cup with your fingerprints on it at the restraunt and thought it may be a clue.” Then Clara said, ”I forgot we had eaten in the restraunt. It may have fallen off under the table somewhere!”
They both rushed to the restraunt, looked under the table, and found Tony’s tiny shoe. They were so happy that they found the shoe. Clara and Bonnie then left the museum and headed to Tony’s house. When they go inside they gave Tony his shoe. That made him very happy.
